Website Owners Beware:

We’ve received several calls this past month from people saying they missed a month of payment to their webhost provider, and the unthinkable happened. Their hosting company deleted their website, AND one company even lost their long-time registered business domain name. Sadly, another company promptly purchased it and began using it. Any marketing materials the company had will need to be recreated with a new domain name they’re now forced to use.

Yes, you read correctly…a business who owned a website and domain name for many, many years COMPLETELY. LOST. EVERYTHING due to 1 month of non-payment.

Justhost.com and Bluehost.com – both hosting companies owned by the same parent company, and subject to the same policies, will now only keep your website for 4 WEEKS. Not a day. After 4 weeks they will delete everything sitting on your server. Website files, backups, you name it.

While some people may be shocked, it’s understandable when you think of the millions of clients hosting companies have, and all the server space being occupied by non-paying clients.

To avoid this ever happening to you, I recommend choosing AUTO-RENEW on your credit card. And remember – if you ever change your credit card number or email address, you MUST update both to continue seamlessly receiving hosting services.

If you’re not sure if you have a backup for your website, please contact us and FolioFLY Website Solutions can help by providing either basic offsite backup storage for you, and/or we’ll recommend an appropriate monthly maintenance package designed specifically for your business needs.
